Nadia Myre’s visual art exhibition at grunt gallery, Indian Act, opened the Indian Acts conference (Nov. 28th 2002); her process of making the work was literally an Indian Action: the artist and over 230 participants beading all 56 pages of the Federal Government’s Indian Act. The work was first exhibited in 2002 at Oboro Gallery as part of the exhibition, Cont[r]act, and has become iconic of the artist’s work.
